YouVersion. Lots of things to like.
Many different translations. Many different reading plans. Most of the versions have audio. It is ad-free.

With these apps, (YouVersion or MySword) is everything downloaded on your phone or is an internet connection required to use the app?

I have found the need for internet connection for only certain versions of the audio. Others there is no problem. I have used YouVersion on my Nook, my iPod and my phone. I have this to be the case with all of them.

PocketBible from Laridian. I like the bookmarks, highlights, and notes features. No internet connection required. You can sync between all of your devices. I've written an article about it here:
