Re: House church or excuse?
If God moved me to a new location and I felt to, I would start a home church.

Friday afternoon I put two chuck roasts on the grill. I was using mesquite chunks for fuel. I had marinated them both in a marinade for about 3-4 hours. The marinade was white vinegar, sunflower oil, lots of pepper, garlic, salt, Italian seasonings (basil, rosemary, etc).
I cooked them on the grill, lid closed (smoked them) and BOY OH BOY OH BOY were they good! Tasted like brisket hot out of the smokehouse.
The reason you guys never heard of smoking a roast is because you guys ain't Texas rednecks.

hey, move often enough, and you realize that you carry the Church around with you, and by just being you allow the Holy Spirit to start stuff

Is that what Jesus would do?

I just believe the text:
Matthew 18:20
20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, THERE I AM AMONG THEM.” You can read it,
Matthew 18:20
20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, IT IS LIKE I AM THERE AMONG THEM.” I think you can see my issue. But there is a way out of this disagreement.
Let's agree on this... when you gather together... Jesus can be there by "proxy".
When we gather... Jesus can be a manifest presence.
Agreed?

As I said, he's always there. So it's redundant to say he is. But we'll agree to disagree.

However, when two or more are gathered is He not flowing through the body in a unique way with His manifest presence, the moving of the Spirit, to deliver church discipline or to minister in other ways???
If He isn't present in this manner when two or more are gathered together... then how many must be gathered together for such manifest presence and ministry to take place???

Re: House church or excuse?
Would never use the term "proxy" in relation to an ever-present God. It makes it sound like He isn't present and people are acting on His behalf. Understand, we believe He is truly present in Spirit and acting "through" His body.
"...THERE I AM AMONG THEM."
Face it, the only thing that keeps you clinging to this "proxy" notion is the fact that you don't like to be corrected. lol
