Re: Faith and righteousness

One other question: Why didn't Peter tell the Jews who were convicted by his message in Acts 2, that all they had to do was believe that Jesus was the Christ and that their faith in Christ would be credited as righteousness instead the response he gave in Acts 2:38?

There is no dichotomy between the two. They had to believe Jesus was the resurrected Christ. They had to call upon his name. This is done in baptism.

Surely you know these things?

The obedience of Jesus' death made us righteous. We have to get baptized into that death to see it accounted to us personally.
