That's like the pope maybe wanting to become a parish priest. Trump isn't "GOPe". The GOPe are whores, Trump is a well-monied John.

On the other appointments, we will see. I understand that he is going to negotiate the Iran deal with moderate Arab states and on moving the Embassy to Jerusalem, he says he will do it by "consensus". That probably means it won't get done.

If he does half of what he says, I'll be impressed.
If we would have got Cruz though there'd be no question.
Going to the White House and calling Obama a "great man" and someone he'll be working with after calling him stupid for 2 years and promising to repeal his signature accomplishment seems a bit concerning. I'm not saying Trump shouldn't be respectful and polite. But seems like in 2 days he's moved off all the rhetoric and straight to center. He may end up slightly left of center. Will he even do anything he promised?
Does anyone expect a wall to actually be built? I don't.
Embassy moved to Jerusalem? No chance.
A conservative supreme court justice? I think thats within the realm of possibility.
A full repeal and replace of Obamacare, on day 1 (or by day 100)? Maybe, but I'll be surprised if he actually does much about it. Maybe a couple little tweaks, then claim he fulfilled his pledge.
I'm so glad we don't have Hillary.
I'm rooting for Trump.
I'm highly sceptical though and have low expectations.

I agree on all points. And, yes, Ted Cruz is a man of his word - he would have done exactly what he promised as he has done that very thing since he has been elected Senator.
This is a great read - I pulled out a couple of points which speaks to what you were saying about the nasty name calling and then the praise. He did that very thing regarding Hillary in his acceptance speech - she was great and wonderful... yada yada yada...
Really, really good article.

Managing President Trump
That second principle is going to be essential in dealing with Trump, who is not known for keeping his word or for even being embarrassed about breaking it, viewing honor as a poor negotiating tactic.
If there is one thing about which Donald Trump has been consistent, it is that no one — not business partners, not wives, not political allies — can take him at his word.

Re: Trump 2016
One thing that raises a big red flag for me - Trump has appointed Steve Bannon as his Chief of Staff. That means that Bannon can continue to use Breitbart to take out Trump's enemies. Trump's pal at National Enquirer did the same thing to Ted Cruz. See how that works? Not good.

Actually the word is Reince Preibus is the front runner for COS.

The list I received had both their names as COS. He certainly isn't going to throw over Bannon.

Re: Trump 2016
Why does Trump hate the First Amendment?
During the campaign, Trump went on about how he desired to restrict free press rights to allow journalists to be sued for publishing "nasty" things about him.
Last night, Trump tweeted:
"""Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag - if they do, there must be consequences - perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!"""
Let's imagine for a moment if obama had openly discussed restricting freedom of the press, then, after winning the election, tweeted about punishing people who exercised their free speech rights.
Conservatives, and Trumpsters, would be outraged! 0 would be creating another revolution thread. DB would be ranting on about obama being a dictator.
But obama didn't do this, Trump did. Yet, I haven't read a word from DB or 0 condemning it. I remember DB claimed he would speak out when Trump was wrong, so by his silence on these statements, are we to assume DB agrees that the free press and free speech (the First Amendment in general) should be restricted or repealed?

" Hates the First Amendment" So, if a sovereign State chooses to restrict the sale of certain kinds of porn within its borders, does that constitute "hating the First Amendment"?
