Master. as was his father... and his father.... all extremely good men.
as was my dad who stopped being one when he got the HG in the 60s. has since kind of made some contacts.... never saw the reason to leave it, but did so in obedience.

I've been trying to research (using Google). There's a lot of weird info out there. I was fortunate enough to come across a site where masons answer questions from those not in the fraternity.
