If a woman is forced to stay and home and be a house wife against her will, I think we would all agree that it would be unhealthy.
Of course circumstance matters. Number of kids, income, abilities, interest in working, etc. No two situations are exactly alike.

Just think of all those men forced to go to work and provide for their families. What a crime they can't just fulfill their dreams of shopping eBay and playing Call of Duty.
Not to mention the trauma of being forced to wear pants. Oh, the humanity, no wonder everything is so messed up!

I'm glad you understand that I didn't mean any offense. The guys are really running with it though. They've accused us of adultery because we're divorcees, EB keeps trying to bring up my PTSD and military service, so many things I've said have been taken out of context. I don't get them. But, I've never truly really understood people who act that way.
I've contemplated putting them on ignore. But I think the better of it when I think of how many descent debates we've had. And they normally come around.

The trouble is that we have a culture where women don't want to be house wives. They are programmed that it is a bad thing and it makes them lesser. All this equal rights stuff has shaped people's thinking. You may not see it but this has a lot to do with the rise of transgenderism, homosexuality, fornication, adultery, etc...
|
I think some might be programmed. Others might honestly want to do something professional. You know, a woman can be a professional working woman.... and a good mother. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

By what you describe of your family I don't doubt that you are good people. I am sure you help the community and do a lot of good. The thing is we cannot be good enough. The left is not all bad with their end poverty, end hunger and save the environment views, but it is when the ends justify the means that is the problem. We must obey God even though it may not be culturally and politically correct.
|
I'm not sure I understand. If you're wanting to help out in your community, go out and do it. Most places are dying for volunteers. Of course, it might be more difficult in the Summer time when the kids aren't in school. But certainly while the kids are in school, you can help your community.
I've never thought a house wife was not good enough. I have been deeply disturbed when it was obvious that a woman was selling herself short of her dreams and ambitions. That's not good enough. God gave so many women a life's calling, talents, skills, and dreams. If being a house wife isn't a woman's passion, I believe she should be encouraged to follow her dreams.

The Bible teaches us to deny ourselves and take up our cross. The world says be anything you want to be and do anything you want to do (aka: follow your dreams). The world also confuses gain for godliness. I have no vendetta against women that work, but it is God's will that people should pursue in life and not simply just personal ambitions.

Bro, what do you even do for a living? You are troubled with many cares? How much debt hangs over your head like the sword of Damocles? One of the brothers has 9 children and with one on the way. He is a man of faith, before anything. Faith, and he knows who steers the ship. I raised a family as a full time evangelist, faith took care of my family, faith took care of everything. Save money? God saves souls, money will come as He fills the need. The Proverb 31 woman is the church and her work is at home. What war did you fight in that you have PTSD?

Aquila is most certainly touch not the unclean thing. He's the type who goes to feed the homeless just to have his picture taken. Also to have bragging rights. Too sad.

Thank you, it is also interesting when someone gets caught in a crack they end up telling everyone this war stories. Past history how they were raised in a ghetto, how they were once homeless, how they had a stay at home mom, how their new spouse/girlfriend/bring home the bacon woman was a part time stay at home mom. Why? All to justify their little speech on how house wives lead a boring life? It makes foot go down a little better after they had it in their mouth for a while. So, the next question would be, why do you have such disdain for stay at home mothers? What did you witness from your mother to give you such an opinion?

Aquila,
Thanks for your contribution to this thread. I am appalled by the ungodly attitude that 2 members have against you.
