One must know that God in manifest in Christ Jesus and be born again (of the water and of the Spirit) to be saved.

Almost everything else is subject to interpretation. For example, how one interprets prophecy. Or how one interprets church structure. Or how one interprets marriage, divorce, and remarriage. Or how one interprets what Genesis has to say about creation. Or how one interprets modesty. Or how one interprets the issue of tithing. Or how the OT Law relates to a life in Christ under Grace. All these things are subject to interpretation. The interpretations of these issues that one eventually embraces after they have done much study should enrich their life in Christ and be edifying. But salvation isn't predicated upon them.
I think the God "became" Jesus of modern oneness is not the right approach to oneness, and may be a serious error.

I think the God INSIDE Jesus doctrine in the Bible is the proper definition of 1st century oneness(but dont want that debate to start here).

I agree. But that's another topic for another thread.

As long as there are "theologians", then doctrines will continue to change like the direction of the wind.

Every one of them want to get their 2 cents in.

Re: Salvation depends on doctrine!

If anyone wants to be well known in Christianity, they need not be a scripture quoter like Bro. Bayer, but only need to comment about it like The Layman.

Dare I say, it's not what you know... it's who you know.

That's the gospel truth.

I am really saying this.

If we all can get off our religious high horse, lay our ideas out for scriptural scrutiny, be willing to change as needed, then those that teach PERFECT truth will be elevated by the Lord to speak in His stead.

Regarding perfect doctrine, God will knock down doors to get those voices heard.

The idea is to learn and be corrected by truth, as opposed to the laissez-faire "most doctrine doesn't matter" approach taken by the masses.

Re: Salvation depends on doctrine!

What would Paul say if he could come back and observe what happened to his 1st century teaching?
