Alcohol tolerence varies dude.
Thats what temperance and moderation does...it puts the responsibility on the person instead of blaming a substance.
Got a problem with over eating? Maybe you should stay out of the all you can eat Cheese Cake buffet.
A more insidious thing is how many times has the devil whispered into someones ear,"You drank a glass of wine or a beer and you liked it...you must be a alcoholic....sinner."
Thus the person believes that they have failed God and feels condemned and the enemy says,"Well since you're already in sin...might as well do this too..."
All done by convincing someone they crossed a line that God did not place.
What about an examination into the Temperance Movement and how it merged with American Christianity in the early 1900's.

Re: Wine vs Grape Juice
Personally speaking, I would never partake of communion with wine. Every time I've had communion through my life, it's been with grape juice. I can't stand even the very smell of alcohol. I even have to be careful when baking, since things like vanilla extract have alcohol in it.
I've never understood why someone would expose themselves to any substance that can mess with your ability to think straight, whether it be drinking, smoking or drugs. I prefer my mental faculties intact.

Don't forget when a brother gets pulled over, and thinks he is just fine.
Then he realizes he is drunk.
He would never know he is drunk but the cop showed him.
Christians get drunk....they just don't know it.
