LEGAL MOVES. Ocoee attorneys have filed a motion seeking dismissal of a lawsuit filed by the minister of a Pentecostal church. The Rev. Sterling Pylant, leader of the Christian Life Assembly on Starr Road, is suing the city in an effort to stop its code enforcement board from imposing a $100-a-day fine against him. The fine was imposed after Pylant failed to get a building permit to convert a former horse stable into a church. Pylant has been charged more than $5,000 in fines. The motion for dismissal was filed because Pylant did not give the city the notice required by law before filing his suit, officials said.

CHURCH SUIT. Orange County Circuit Court Judge Cecil Brown dropped the Rev. Sterling Pylant's suit against the city of Ocoee Monday when Pylant failed to appear for a court hearing. The minister had filed suit against the city, hoping to have his $7,000 fine for building code violations dropped. Pylant heads the Christian Life Assembly Church, which met for more than a year in a former horse stable in north Ocoee before Brown told Pylant to vacate the building. The 50-member congregation now has services in a shopping center on Silver Star Road

An Orange circuit judge Thursday ordered the Christian Life Assembly Church in Ocoee to clear out of a former horse barn until the structure meets city codes. The Rev. Sterling Pylant said he and his Pentecostal congregation of about 70 people have been holding services three times a week for 16 months in a building without running water or electricity. Ocoee filed for a temporary injunction because the building at the end of Starr Road is a possible health hazard, city attorney Elaine Fishman said in a hearing last Friday.

Lol, my first robbery against God was when I was about 8. My brother, sister and I would go into the local Catholic church in San Jose CA, and kneel to the statue of Mary. At the base of the statue was a lit candle on top of a money box. The money could be seen and taken by the priest by reaching under the statue. Well we beat him to it when we would go do our penances.... Lol

We would go to the store and buy candy and "odd Rods".

We robbed God for years until we left San Jose.
