Francis Schaeffer's son Frank Schaeffer converted to Eastern Orthodoxy years ago. Now he is an atheist. Really an agnostic because he claims he still believes in God. Bart Ehrman grew up Episcopal, he then started to get himself some "learnin" then migrated through an evolution of "truths" and influenced by starchy professors, scholars, and researchers. He became a "scholar" and when we become "scholars" we need not to lose sight of the "Main Thing" which is Jesus Christ. When knowledge, and intellect, mingles with pride, then we slip and slide right through a gate that's wide. The ancients understood this fact. I'm not saying old Festus was right about the Apostle Paul, and Paul's great knowledge. Festus didn't understand Paul's knowledge of Jesus Christ Acts 26:24. What I am saying is that the ancients knew full well how knowledge without a spiritual anchor can allow your ship to drift far off into seas and oceans you never dreamed you would end up.
Ecclesiastes 12:11-12 "the sayings of the wise are like cattle prods, and those from masters of congregations are like firmly embedded nails. The sayings are given by one Shepherd, But beyond these, my son, be warned: there is no end to the making of many books, and much study wearies the body."
The ancients understood that man's tendency is to run with knowledge, and allow that knowledge to take God's place. Look at this, when we first walked into an Apostolic Pentecostal church we were a blank slate. We loved what we felt, we shouted, spoke in tongues, listened to preaching that was manna from heaven. As we learn, especially those who swim in the septic tank called the Internet and drink from the stagnant pool called forums, and "Biblical" websites. The shout, the prayer, the devotion, the preaching, the respect for those who are preaching to us, gets cold and real old. We get so smart, so much knowledge, we become theologians and when people start to praise us, then pride kills. We end up looking at those tongue talkers around us, those Jesus name people as uneducated rubes, and we leave for the more theological more studious "Christians" or religions. Sadly, when they leave they didn't take Jesus with them. They might believe they did. Because after all Jesus always agreed with their every move in the past. Jesus liked everyone they liked, and hated everyone they hated. So, Jesus had to still be approving of their move? Sadly, sooner or later Jesus gets the boot, as in old Frank Schaeffer's religious Titanic. Christopher Hitchens was a Christian, and he became a famous Christ hater.
When we first walked in the church and felt the power, that power must be greater and greater as time goes on. If it starts to lessen. Then we need to not seek Google, or YouTube. We need the prayer closet and stay there until we are power up in Jesus name.
Hank, Frank, and Bart were ecclesiastically intellectuals first, and became ice cold.
Famous Apostolics?
Give me an old Apostolic praying 24 hours straight in the prayer room, with tears and snot bubbles. Speaking in tongues like Cheetah calling Tarzan. tips of the boots worn out, and his or hers Bible all marked up. 1 Corinthians 2:8 None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. I understand what this scripture applies to, but it truth can also apply to those who are famous, who are well known among theological circles. The first century Rabbis and religious leadership were blind to the Christ. In the same way the famous Evangelicals and Theologians are blind to the Apostolic Pentecostal One God Jesus name message.
That's why focus on Jesus Christ, a prayer life, a Holy Ghost led and fed Bible study, with ministry who personally knows you. Who will tell you when you are wrong, and can show you when your boat is no longer a float. is important.

Re: Hank Hanergraaff joins a cult
The form of Faustus' fortunes, good or bad:
To patient judgments we appeal our plaud,
And speak for Faustus in his infancy.
Now is he born, his parents base of stock,
In Germany, within a town call'd Rhodes:
Of riper years, to Wertenberg he went,
Whereas his kinsmen chiefly brought him up.
So soon he profits in divinity,
The fruitful plot of scholarism grac'd,
That shortly he was grac'd with doctor's name,
Excelling all whose sweet delight disputes
In heavenly matters of theology;
Till swoln with cunning, of a self-conceit,
His waxen wings did mount above his reach,
And, melting, heavens conspir'd his overthrow;
For, falling to a devilish exercise,
And glutted now with learning's golden gifts,
He surfeits upon cursed necromancy;
Nothing so sweet as magic is to him,
Which he prefers before his chiefest bliss:
And this the man that in his study sits.

Didn't you deserted the oneness way and have gone over to their opponents?
