Nobody said the gates of hell prevailed against it. But as the Apostle Paul, the Apostle Peter, and Jude foretold a great falling away did happen. But the gates of hell couldnt snuff it out, the fire was going to burn regardless. Jesus promised it. So I believe y'all both were misreading what Is said.

We could chase rabbits or we can deal with scripture. What they did before Exodus 28:42 is irrelevant but when God spoke and said " thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach." After this point anything in a design similar to this became a garment "pertaining unto a man". Why? Because God created them for men! Anything longer or shorter, tight, leggings, hose, sweat pants, yoga pants anything in the design God ordained are pertaining to, and intended for a man.
