Who said Jesus had a beard? Are you going to walk around in the same type of clothes they wore back then?

I agree with that. In my opinion thats disrespect! If the president, or some high ranking official came, Ill you what people would dress better than Sunday. Thats a shame, they treat visiting or seeing some “high” status individual, but they’ll complain when the Pastor sets a standard for the church.

No argument here - good points, both of them.

I don't claim to be right about everything I do or don't do - and I have not made it a dividing line of fellowship. I am open to being wrong and in need of His correction, at least that is what I want anyway..

Re: Should we teach others to rebel against standa

In high school I played baseball and the requirement was we had to be clean shaven. Not one person quit over it.... most service business require a clean shaven face. I was working for a 30 year old company and not until about 3 years ago did they finally start allowing facial hair. And even now it’s very specific on how you can have it if you do grow one...... but bring a standard in the church and people want to get mad lol

Couldn't find the "Thou shalt wear sandals" verse in the Bible.

Here’s James’ opinion of your doctrine.
Jas.2

[1] My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
[2] For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
[3] And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
[4] Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
[5] Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
[6] But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
[7] Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
[8] If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
[9] But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

Little has changed in two thousand years.
