Re: Rev. Spell Quote

I don't know anybody that is claiming having church online compares to having church where people are gathered together. It is a temporary measure during a crisis and the people trying to make it something more should be ashamed of themselves. I have yet to see one person using this situation to say "see, we don't need church. Let's all just have it online!" yet I constantly see that premise put forth as if people are actually thinking that way.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

The government is basically saying that. If something is considered non essential then it isn’t needed. They are saying our world will never be the same... when this thing takes off again who do you think is going to get the blame... the churches. The apostolic movement is a hands on type of religion. Other churches can do it and get their agenda done. The true church is founded on gathering.
