Police officers inside the U.S. Capitol are in an armed standoff at the front door of the House, with police officers drawing their guns at someone trying to reach the front door.

The standoff comes as the U.S. Capitol building has gone into lockdown and lawmakers have been asked to evacuate the building. Protestors have breached barricades outside the Capitol and entered the building in violation of security protocols.

Rep. Jim Himes (D., Conn.) said police have asked lawmakers to get gas masks because tear gas has been used in the Rotunda.

Just heard a kid interviewed on the radio (sounded young). He claimed that he was part of the group that first entered the Capitol. He claimed a young woman in front of him went through a door and was shot by a Capitol Police officer. He believes she died.

They want to claim that, however, it's clear there are/were many Trump supporters who were inside the Capitol.
