And none of what you described has any New Testament precedent.
If wild "shockamoo" is the norm for church and in the presence of the Holy Spirit then why do we not have New Testament examples of it?
You would think it would deserve at least some mention. Especially since when this subject came up back on NFCF many old time Pentecotals made it clear they believe you MUST shockamoo (shout) with abandon to be right with God.

The power and presence of God moving in and on people causes reaction of some sort. People respond in different ways to that but there's no doubt that some of how people respond and react and 'worship' is learned to an extent. In many cases, they see what's going on around them and copy that ---- to an extent anyhow.
If they've been in an environment when the response to being laid hands on is to "fall out" then they think this is what they're supposed to do and that's what happens. Not always of course but 'example' is a powerful thing.

True. I find this very disturbing, and causes me to question more things in "my world" and less things in the world I am not familiar with.

Isn't that what "shockamoo" is? A learned response to bumped up music.

shout with abandon ? as much as I love to praise I wonder about people that all they know how to do is jump and shout. Where is the contents? Are we like a door hangng from a ceiling? The door is needful BUT in the right place. We need to live our whole life with intense abandon (to give (oneself) over unrestrainedly) to God and His kingdom.
We do not find te early church doing a lot of things we do but we do find them completly giveover to reaching others....turning cities upside down...nothing else mattered except making Jesus known.
Let us follow their example and intensly live in the spirit of the first church...
