You can certainly find it in any camp, whether it be the judgmental conservative who condemns to hell anyone who differs with him, or the sanctimonious liberal who sneers down his long nose at those neanderthals who maintain stronger convictions than he.
I agree. In all seroiusness I fight this at times. I get so frustrated at what I see as being off in a ditch in old time Pentecost that if I don't watch it I get a self rightous attitude about it.

I have found if one is praying like they should and actively working on the fruit of the spirit being active in their lives this is usually easy to get under control!

However one has to WANT to get it under control and sometimes people seem to base their Christian walk and existence around the judgmentalism and believe that it is their duty. Those are the folks I have the big problem with.

Is it Possible to Be a Pharisaical Liberal?
It's possible - yes, of course. I know some.

I would have to say....yes.

Pharisees come in all shapes and sizes...they are found in every Christian group I know of in one form or another...

To be one is more of attitude and action than it is doctrine and belief....IMHO.

I think that goes without saying... but I can rephrase and say that I know better than any human, including anyone who claims to represent God.

I've seen them on both sides of the fence:

Liberals: who consider themselves free from Legalism, and
Conservatives: who think they are holier because of their adherence to legalism.

I hate both sides of this fence. I believe in moderation in all things...
I believe Christ became the law so that what the law couldn't do to save us...Jesus hung it on the Cross to free us. It doesn't give us the license to sin, but when we do,,,we have an advocate with the Father through His Son Jesus Christ.

Blessings, Rhoni

The pharisees in the Bible believed pretty much what the ultra cons believed. Read conversations Jesus had with the pharisees. Read about Paul's conversion and his subsequent encounters with the pharisees. Jesus and Paul were definitely not persecuted by some liberal... This is the KJV gospel right down to the red letter. Anything else is blatent spin.
