If I thought the debate or conversation would be only about the topic, and not turn into an “us vs. them” thing… I would consider it. To be honest, I don't see anyone changing their mind.. however if fruitful dialog is possible, I am willing. If you want to PM me, I would be willing to consider this....

I will state this... it is very hard to find a good church with standards in the Dallas area. Now some will say well there is this one and that one..but I have known about 5 people who moved over there or live over there and that is the testimony I get from them. Several have ended up out of church or have left the "upc" standards. Tx isnt like La lol over here good churchs are everywhere if your looking for standards lol but in Tx it is kinda hard to find a good church. With good mixture of worship and standards.
Ok my two cents

Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Mark 12:38-40

38 As he taught, Jesus said, "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, 39 and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 40 They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely."
NIV

Matt 23:27-33

27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,

30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
KJV
what is the purpose of all of these scriptures? What view are you trying to make? It doesnt say how not to dress or how to dress but how not to act.

Purpose was they looked so nice and righteous on the outside but were evil on the inside. Think about it.

Spiritually anemic people can let standards or lack of standards define their spirituality. Why would anyone quit church or lose their faith or walk with God because they didn't have a church with standards to follow?

Because the standards are their only guide rails, not the word or the Spirit of the Lord. No relationship with Jesus, the guide rails of standards not present, uh oh, not faith! Boom!!!!! Everything disappears into the canyon of unbelief and despair.
