sounds balanced to me.

i tend to be dead center on this one. some good some bad.

we will play little league baseball if my son has interest. but I dont know that i will encurrage sports beyond that unless he has exceptional ablity and maturity...and care for the things go God.

Revrandy,

What people may be able to do in situations beyond their control is one thing; choices we make for ourselves is quite another. The latter is what we are discussing.

If I was marooned on a desert island with no Bible I could maintain my relationship with God too, but if I have my way, I am going to be near a good church.

One doesn't have much to do with the other.

Find a Christian League I do believe growing up it makes a difference if you decide to allow them to play..

Don't you?

Why would you willingly place yourself in a situation where you would be separated for long periods of time from the fellowship of the Body of Christ, and one's local church?
I agree with this.

There were two games my son missed last year because of church. When the coach approached him and asked him to play last year, our son told him he could not miss church at all.

When regionals came their first game was on a Wednesday evening. My son did not go and his coach never treated him any differently because of it. When sectionals came around he contributed in a big way to the team's success.

My son has arranged all of his course load to become a teacher, and wants to coach basketball eventually. His current coach is a great mentor. Unfortunately, that is not aklways the case.
Let me go see if I can find that story I posted last year.....

Ferd, were you in the military?

If so, what would you say to a young person about joining?

Is the environment conducive to a relationship with God?

We know it is possible to be faithful to God in any situation, but I am talking about choice here.

Will you recommend that your son serve?

Please explain why or why not.
