Been watching this on CNN w/Anderson Cooper . . . terrible. The ticker that runs on the bottom of the screen says that a freight train is also under the rubble somewhere.

I believe one of the admins hit edit instead of quote on your post and added their commen"deserving of much prayer" - they meant to quote you.

I've done this before too.

This morning the news channels are running surveillance video that shows part of the actual bridge collapse. You can actually see the span over the water breaking off and falling then the section at one of the ends left twisting upward.

Officials are saying 20-30 people are missing but thankfully the water is only about 9 feet deep in the Mississippi where the bridge fell so they don't think very many additonal cars are underwater. That also kept the span that fell above water so those cars were not submerged (unless they fell off in the fall).

Fox news just inverviewed a structural engineer involved in many things like this and he said he has never seen an entire bridge fail and fall before. He said it is usually just one part.

At a press conference just now the police said that some dying people asked rescue workers to tell their loved ones goodbye, they loved them, etc. Very sad.

That is sad. I admire folks who do that type work. I just couldn't.
