I do. I received a phone call from one of the members of this church less than a week ago asking me to sponsor her in a rock-a-thon. I asked her what they were raising money for, and she told me that it was just to increase the amount in the church treasury so that they can meet obligations. It's truly sad that a church has to resort to fundraisers to pay the bills because of the bulk of the money going through the church being put into the pastor's pocket while church utility bills go unpaid.

If you fell you must tithe go ahead.
I am sure God will bless it and you.
But if you can not and do not want to; don't.

I think Cooper is a closet tithe payer, and just posts threads like this to see people fight over tithes.

FG, that is sad. Notice I said, "I" do not know. I cannot vouch for them all.
Over the last eight years, my contact with UPC and ALJC has been somewhat limited however.

So do you agree he was speaking to jews who were under the law at that time and ought to have paid tithes???
Matthew 23:23 was correction for not keep all the law.
you stated "as some still do"
Your right, do you believe all the scriptures on tithes should be followed today??

I do consider tithing to be a Biblical commandment. Therefore, I would be uncomfortable attending a church that didn't also teach tithing (and offerings...I assume....)
If I did attend one ( highly doubtful), I would continue to pay tithes and offerings according to my convictions, and the church would just have to figure out what to do with the money.

I believe the gift has already been offered, and one day, perhaps soon, I will stand clean before the Highest Priest, after the order of Melchisedec, who BTW received tithes of Abraham, who, BTW, was called faithful.

More importantly, did He pay tithes?

The "as some still do" refers to self-justification.
Relax, brother, don't feel obligated.

Jesus didn't teach for them to do it one day as you purpose.
BTW do you think ALL scriptures should be taught on tithes??
