This church was founded in 1959 the pastor was associated with the original group with Bishop Brown. He never did believe the name had to be over the door, but he fellowshipped with them.

The UACof JC never believed the name had to be over the door, it is an unrelated group started by Bishop Berchett Howard. Later, Bishop Kenneth Brown became the superintendent.

Bishop Howard, before his death, was one of my dearest friends. I preached many revival meetings for him.

The group Elder Holt was associated with was part of the name over the door bunch. He never did believe that although he did name the church "The Church of Jesus Christ". He knew all the older guys like Brown, Lawson, Smith, Lee, Kennarian, etc. The guy from Homosassa I forget his name. I was around them somewhat.

Bishop Howard was known and respected by lots of people.
At one time he was part of the AMA, the group started by Bro. L.R. Ooton back in the early nineteen forties.

The ministerial list I have shows B.H. Baugues on the Body of Bishops and gives an address of Homosassa, Florida.

There is an Eld. Harry Holt, 205 Warren St. Mitchell, Indiana listed as a minister in Indiana.

I don't know how old this listing is. Bishop Mark Lawson is not listed so it must be after he died, and Boyd Lawson is listed in the Body of Bishops with a Louisville, Kentucky. Bishop R.L. Hancock is listed also.

L.A. Parent is listed as a Bishop but not as part of the Body of Bishops.

Yes, in fact Bro. Howard, although he left and started the UACofJC in the seventies, stayed in fellowship, as far as going to their conferences and meetings up until his health did not allow long distance travel. Some of the AMA men would come to his meetings and so forth.

I don't have the material in front of me, but I believe Boyd's membership in the main COJC group was terminated, either by himself, or by the Bishop board during the 1975 conference. If Bishop1 sees this thread, he will have info., as he was at that conference.

There is also a Full Gospel Church Of Jesus Christ group in AL.
A Bishop Webber was over that group ,it is a break off of one of the TN. groups.
Sister Trouvere knows something about this group.
