I love to hear when good things like that come to those who are doing Gods work! When our church purchased their building in Okc area. It was 130,000 and not too shabby of a building. Needed about 40,000 worth of work done to it and the parsonage. We completed the parsonage for 5,000 all work was done by the church and the biggest fix up was the cabinets and all the wood and woodwork were donated!...

The church building itself too the majority of the cost and so for 180,000 we had a totally new parsonage and building... the parsonage was 2900 sq ft and the church was also fairly decently sized.

Here is the wild part. Day after we signed on the dotted line. It appraised for 480,000!!!! That was before any of the repairs/renovations were done. The city appraiser came to our house for dinner one night and said "Good Lord the house would almost appraise for what the entire property did before!!!

Last year the insurance man told us we were very under-insured... he wanted us to insure it for $350,000... I told him, come on, we only paid $80,000. : )

I read an article in the Province when I was in BC a few weeks ago that the average for a 3 bedroom house in greater Vancouver is right around the $700K mark - just crazy......It's hovering around $500K here - also crazy!! Especially when I look at the mls.ca site and see what I can get in Fredericton or the Saint John river valley area for under $200K.... Maybe I should go back - LOL!

Vancouver has been listed as the most liveable city in the world. It certainly isn't because of reasonable housing, that's for sure.

The tax rate is lower here too. I'm not sure what it is.

New Brunswick is wonderful, far as I'm concerned.

Yea we had to insure at the appraised rate!!! That stunk!!! But when you go thru companies that work mostly with churches like we did it is a lot better!
