Corruptable and Incorruptable

1Cr 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Ok you Schologians (Scholarly Theologians), I have a question. Maybe more than one.

In reading the verse above i see that it says that "flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God". Now while many state that this is speaking of heaven, I see this as speaking of our new birth experience. The bible states that the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy IN THE HOLY GHOST. So I believe that part of the verse is simply saying that the kingdom is a Spiritual kingdom, and you ain't gonna get it in your natural state.

Now to the second part, and my question. The verse States that "corruption does NOT inherit incorruption". Can someone explain this to me more clearly? In the resurrection, I have always been taught that we are changed from Corruption to incorruption. Would this verse imply that our "fleshly bodies" are not "upgraded" but that we get a "completely new model"?

That's the way I see it.

We'll have a new body...a spiritual one. One that can appear and disappear and walk through walls too.

How about us sticklers for spelling?

I assume you meant "corruptible and incorruptible"?

1 Cor 15:51 - 58 (KJV)
51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

The incorruptible body is the corruptible one that is changed. The "CHANGE" aspect is the all important element. ALTERED. Just like Jesus' body from the tomb. It was corruptible, but was altered to become a spiritual body.

Or corrigible and incorrigible?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Yes because Paul says that FLESH cannot inherit the kingdom.
