This was said while we debated res #3. A resolution that would prohibit someone who has been divorced, suffered financial difficulty, or any other "questionable" issues, from preaching in my church.

The entire idea was CONTROL.

There is a very small minority who want control.

They will not control the pulpit of the church I pastor.

Phil, if I wanted you to preach in my church, and you agreed to come, they would have the right to call me before the board now.

I wish I could agree with your last statement but I do not think I can. Well... maybe I can because it is relative and the world may never reach bottom so the UPCI may well remain "relatively" conservative.
