How about looking at the Bible. Oh, there are NO Catholics that have the Holy Ghost, sorry.

lol
you can say that, but they're speaking in tongues and claiming to be filled with the Holy Ghost the same as you....
Besides, read the post I responded to... you said "they're making up for the lack of Holy Ghost"... My point was that they don't have a lack of Holy Ghost in many places... at least 1/4 of the churches Christendom (and that's including Catholicism) is filled with the Holy Spirit on some level... If you take Catholicism out it could be as much as 1/2 of the people who are regular church-goers...

Brother, I've seen it, so I know it happens. I also know that there is a counterfeit spirit at work in many churches because I've seen that too. I sought the Holy Ghost for several years before coming to the apostolic church, so I know what I am talking about. You may think all these people are filled, but it isn't nearly as many as you think.

They need to GET SAVED, they are NOT SAVED.
Again, CATHOLICS DON'T HAVE THE HOLY GHOST.
All this fuss to get television advertising and you have people in the org who think Catholics have the Holy Ghost??
Oh Lord help us.

I'm not saying all of them are... but even if only 1/4 of these people are actually filled, that's still a lot more people filled outside of our groups than inside of our groups....

you know whats funny to me? That you think you can say whether people you've never even met are filled with the Holy Ghost or not... That you can mock them and say what they have experienced isn't real even though you don't even know who they are...
and, BTW, I don't agree with Catholic doctrine, but I'm not going to tell someone that what they experience is fake unless I know for sure that it is fake, and since I don't know these people either, I'm not going to say it isn't real... You might be arrogant and heartless enough to say that kind of stuff, but I'm not...

Hey, why not, you have no problem saying that these huge numbers of people (which, you never met) have the Holy Ghost and speak with tongues.

By your own judgement you are wrong, because you say that thousands of people you don't know personally HAVE the Holy Ghost.

That's sounds like a personal dilemma, so I guess you are fine allowing them to walk in darkness. How many Bible studies are you personally involved with people who are non-Pentecostals?

Than you can't say it is.

Not arrogant, or heartless, just realist.

See, I'm going to assume that if someone claims they have the Holy Ghost and they are speaking in tongues that they do, in fact, have the Holy Ghost...
I mean, you realize that by the logic you are using in this thread you have just given yourself the power to deem people saved and others not saved based upon whatever criteria you choose today, right?? You just placed yourself on the Judgement Seat and have given yourself authority to say who is saved and who is damned...
and that isn't right, brother, you do not have that power or authority and you cannot make those statements.

No, I'm not making any judgement, I'm simply saying that if they are claiming it all I can do is say "ok"... I mean, they're even speaking in tongues...
I mean who are you to say who's faking it and who's not???

Niether I nor you have the authority to say who is in darkness and who is in light. We can have what we believe to be truth and spread that, but we do not have the authority or right to dictate who is saved and who is not...

Than you can't say it is.

It isn't our place to say its real or not... If they claim it, there is nothing we can do except:
A) tell them what it really is
and if they say that is what they experienced, then:
B) give them the benefit of the doubt
There is absolutely no other course of action we can take...

No, its arrogant and heartless, and that's being nice about it.

As Ross (Can't win, but I will run anyway) Perot said back in 1992 "NAFTA will create a giant sucking sound" as USA jobs go south to Mexico.
So will the passing of Resolution 4 cause "a giant sucking sound" as ministers that feel betrayed by the org. leave the UPC for other orgs. or the vast world of Good Independent Brethren. (GIBs).
