Simple ...God made residence w/ the body of sin ... that is removed later in water baptism.

C'mon DWW, the guy was a lurker. And his questions are not really "foolish." Taking the "3 Stepper Way" to the extremes does point out its short comings.

We need to sing that old hymn together... "It's All in Him." And realized that not just the "fulness of the Godhead" is "all in Him..." but the fulness of our salvation is as well.

And the question that was avoided earlier? If Joe get HG, speaks in tongues, after sincerely repenting, but dies before making it to church to "be Buried" and "have sins washed away", he is doomed to hell.

God Who knows the future and that he would not make it to the church to be baptised, just filled him for a teaser?

Romans 4:7 - He who calleth those things that are not as though they were...

God will call you "clean" and allow you (really all of us) to be arrayed in white garments even though we are not worthy. He calls us "sons" even though it does not yet appear what we shall be. 1 John 3:1-2

Some would actually be so heartless as to say "yes." The fact that God allowed Joe to die is evidence that Joe was a vessel made for destruction.

For my part, I believe that we are saved by grace through faith. We don't need to have re-enacted Calvary just the way Jesus did it to be saved.

And if Cornelius or someone in the household had died before the water got there?

Or God made residence within a repentant soul who has turned from their old ways of sin to walking in God's ways. The body of sin is not the same as actively walking in sin. We still need to be freed from the body of sin that somehow only the blood of Christ can wash away.

Dan, what happens when a Spirit filled Christian sins? Does God still remain in residence? Or must God leave until repentance has taken place?
