As to those who feel they are divinely appointed to be "Keeper of The Keys" and it sure is fortunate for God that they came along for such a time as this, take another look, for I can [almost] see God sitting down with a good book and some chocolate chip cookies and milk. God aint worried!!!

This in it'self is a worrisome post. I had always imagined God logging on the net to get the Drudge report with a freshly pressed espresso, a dollop of heavy whip, a peanut butter scone.

I think God greatly appreciates all persons and organizations that stand for and promote the Gospel despite any flaws they might have.

Anyone who believes that the biblical method of baptism is immersion in Jesus Name should understand the role that the UPC has played in the growth of that practice in the 20th and now 21st century. Not only within it's ranks but the many that have left and have "gone charismatic" that still baptize in Jesus name.
With all due respect, CC1, we should not take ourselves overly serious, God is beyond our little designs and boxes the we try to contain Him and His purposes.

I am reminded of how He responded to Job, though Job was of great importance to the Lord, He still declared, "...where were you when I...etc, etc?"

That is why my response was that I believe God appreciates ALL Christians. I didn't just limit it to the UPC.

I think any group of people that have played a significanat role in some piece of the overall puzzle in bringing the Gospel to the world have significance in God's eyes.

I believe those of you who minimize it are thinking in human terms. God is perfectly able to appreciate the UPC and others while not relying on them or being dependent on them.

I think he just as much appreciates the roles of many other Christians through the ages in the reformation, etc. Those that helped bring the church back from the corruption of the Roman Catholic church of the middle ages.

You may be right SH. My wife had just rewarded me with the said homemade cookies and milk and the weight on my stomach might have affected the discernment of my heart. CC1 has a point and I wouldn't take away anything from anyone but I'm with my friend Crakjak and think we all take ourselves a bit too serious. The god that many preach is pitifully weak.

Incorrect.

I am leaving by choice.

I resigned to pursue other interests, namely pastoring.

I wish you the best PP ... for you and your loved ones. I know this was not an easy decision but a necessary one. May God continue to bless you richly.

Please allow me to step in here.
First of all, best wishes to PP.

Locally, I could care less what happens to the org as it will not effect my church, we will roll on having great revival.

Finally, it breaks my heart what could happen in some areas with the possibility of a great number leaving and withholding finances, I fear some metro areas, and overseas missions works will bear the weight of this stupid rift...and while I don't take my self too serious, I believe God does.

It was necessary, and way overdue.

There is a great sense of relief in me right now.

No problem.

It's easy to misunderstand things written on these forums sometimes.

Thanks for caring.
