I think this topic is still a big deal to a lot of people if they'd be honest about it

Every family has cultural taboos. Obviously in the Wolfe family the taboo was obliterated by the Mama.
I have cultural taboos for my family as did my family for me, and thankfully my father-in law pretty much allowed anything...which is why I am in the family thankfully...but hind sight is 20/20.
Being black has nothing to do with it, it is the african american culture they have to assimilate...just like any other mixed marriage, Hispanic-Honkey, Scandinavian-Peruvian, Alaskan Native American-Texan...etc.

Well, first of all, that is my REAL opinion...LOL...and secondly, it's not a big deal in my neck of the woods...that I know of. None of my friends feel that way!

Please don't include me in your assumption, Thad! I lived in the deep south for 4 1/2 years, and the racism there sickens me! It has no place in the church, and anyone who feels it on the inside needs to keep their mouth shut and squelch their unchristlike sentiments, so they won't infect a new generation with their own ungodliness!
There you go. My REAL opinions!

Just to be fair---racism in the church IS a topic that makes me a "cross patch."
I haven't experienced it in our church, though. Not one iota.
