We all must realize that this walk requires a daily love relationship ... trusting on HIM AND WHOLE HEARTEDLY SURRENDERING ALL TO HIM

1 Corinthian 10

11These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. 12So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!
I worked a job once where I was not backslidden, but I worked 12-16 hrs a day. It became a matter of work and sleep. I would come to church and have someone smile and say "OH we are PRAYING for YOU!" I had a daily walk with God and was not cold, but simply not there due to work. Someone else stated in anohter theread they are called upon within their church by their first name instead of "Brother"- the mentality to consume instead of show compassion is large.

Surely we should not forsake the assembly of the brethren ... yet in your case ... circumstances dictated.

Conversely ... there are folks who go to church 5-6 times a week, dress the part, and go through the ritualistic motions ....and they are as lost as two boys kissing.

They are not THAT bad we hope, but did Paul state he himself was almost a castaway?

Churches have services more than once on Sunday and once per week still?!?

I could turn him off and on so easily it was scary!

Oh I could write a book but I will spare and probably head to bed now! Been an awesome thread Bro...

Nice change of pace and ... a place AG can learn to "be nice again LOL"

Is that the one?
Yes, that's the one! And it was a TREMENDOUS message! I remember how powerfully it ministered to my husband and I, as we were dealing with some very nasty circumstances at the hands of others who meant us harm. Thank you for following the Holy Ghost when you were here, elder.

I know Spanish churches that have something going on almost everyday .... growing up and even now ...

Most of my church life .... I went to service Tuesday, Friday ... and twice on Sunday ... yet you can still be ice cold and get lost in the house ...

In the same chapter as the Prodigal Son ... we find the woman who loses the coin in her own home.

Why thank you... that's a kind word that I need after a rough last few days.

Hard to believe that was already 5 year ago... back in 2002! I don't know if that much time has passed or my physical condition has just deteriorated a lot. One thing is for sure... I don't feel like I did 5 years ago.

Oh well... God's good and He'll help me.
