That was my question are you UPCI.

I have obeyed and do believe Acts 2:38.

However it is when salvation starts at the Cross - in the water - the Holy Spirit?

The dress for holiness has about as much bible to back it up as sow a seed of money and get rich or get healed...

Finally when I could say something I told them I wanted to relate a story that happened in my life many years ago...

Richard and Sabrina Wurmbrand were in Brazil and I was asked to translate for them in several large churches in Brazil...I gladly did that but my most precious memories where between services sitting in living rooms or where ever just talking to these precious people.

My visitors had been ranting and raving about trinity folks and how lost they were and saying cruel things...

You know I said, I have never been in a communist prison and have never been repeatly raped by cruel guards and never had my son taken away from me or my husband in another prison for 14 years and being told time and time again he was dead.

I have no marks of the whip...no scars from beatings, saw no one executed for the crime of loving Jesus

Sabrina's mother, father and brothers were murdered and when the man that committed the horrible crime confessed to her that he was now a Christian she fell around his neck and they both wept together…

By that time I was weeping and saying, I am deeply thankful for the truth, deeply thankful that I know who Jesus is however when he comes back to judge I hope Richard and Sabrina stand far in front of me or far behind…for I have no scars to show Jesus like my friend Sabrina had…no stories of prison guards…no stories of blood thirsty lustful men raping me…

NO, my friends you will never get me to say one cutting cruel remark about those that may not have had as much light as I have…

Someone could take it no long and said to my accuser, “how many trinity people have you ever baptized?” The person stuttered and did not reply my friend continued, Our missionary has baptized whole churches in Jesus name and never made a cutting remark…

Matt 7:1-2

7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
NIV

Acts 17:31
31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead."
NIV

Consider these guys for a moment (and I don't really know who they are but following the URL gives an idea about the source of the pic)...

What we see here are representatives of historic groups that have been at war with each other for centuries. The tide of battle has turned back and forth over the ages and horrible atrocities have been suffered by all sides.

Though I take it that you have a disparaging view of these men, I wonder why would you seek to emulate them?

Here's a quote from that site:
Quote:
Since adherents of the religion of Judaism do not have faith in either Jesus or the Old Testament Law and prophets, but in the Talmudic and Kabbalistic traditions, exactly what faith is it that John Paul II shares with these "elder brothers" of his?

When this pope claimed that opposition to the religion of Judaism was opposition to the Old Testament, that the religion of Judaism is "a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant" and that the "Eucharistic prayers" of Christian worship are "according to the models of Jewish tradition," he was either babbling dementia or falling far short of the truth ("Jews and Christians Share Much Together," L'Osservatore Romano, English ed., May 5, 1999).
When, on Good Friday, 1998, the Pope turned the Christian Gospel upside down and proclaimed that "Jews have been crucified by us for so long," it was one of the most atrocious examples of modern Catholicism's slavishly Judaic orientation.
You get the idea that if any of these guys for moment let down their guard they would soon be at one another's throats again. Why do you want to be like that?

*** NOTE: I see that you've updated and added to that post.

You're right. I do have a disparaging view of these men and what they represent. So that provides the answer to your own question. I'm not seeking to emulate them. That wouldn't make any sense now, would it?

Pelathais... calm down. It was all just tongue in cheek.
Apparently you didn't "get it".

And the questions go unanswered. This thread started off with a question which was followed by series of "I get my feelings hurt..." type of responses. Those who complained, complained further that they were the Apostolics, so why should they have to hide on a forum dedicated to Apostolic discussions?

I asked, why does it seem that there are so many who lay hold of the title "Apostolic" but they don't hold to the teachings of the Apostolic Fath movement that spurred the development of sites like this?

And, why do they complain that those who still hold fast to the "old paths" are "compromisers" and belittle and condemn them?

Still no answer. We were making a little progress when a smoke screen was thrown up and I am left without having the Apostolic dialogue that I was teased into thinking I would have tonight.

Perhaps Nathan has the best idea. I did get a pretty cool Christmas present, though the editor appears to be one of those "lost trinnies." Still...

If someone has been born again (Acts 2:38) then I would consider them a spiritual brother/sister.

Quote:
I don't demand that you acknowledge them in any particular way, just that they be acknowledged, that's all. How they are acknowledged is up to the legacy that each one has individually left behind.
Then why the press for us to acknowledge them, or affirm them?

Quote:
The "exclusivism" label is applied whenever we take the Acts 2:38 message and use it to remove the idea of Christian or Christian fellowship from others.

I have observed recently a trend where a few of our OP brethren will even deny that they are "Christians" and protest against the use of the word in order to further seperate themselves from Christianity as a whole. This is an extreme response, in my opinion.
The word Christian simply means " a follower of Christ". If someone is attempting to follow Christ, I can call them a Christian. However, I believe there is a difference in being a Christian, and being born again. Thus I may not have any depth of a spiritual relationship with someone that is not born again. It will be based on natural things we have in common, and a limited amount of spiritual things. I can be friends with anyone, but not everyone is considered a "family member"

Acts 2:38 to the bone. You will go to hell without it. You cannot be saved in this day and time without it. Belief in any other is another gospel. No acts 2:38, no heaven. PERIOD!! EXCLAMATION POINT!!!
