Well, the best year of my life.
My son was born.
Got a nice raise.
And the best possible thing that has ever happened to me, the church that I went to for 27 years split right down the middle and as a result we left the UPC and God delievered my whole family right out of that mess and into a brand new church. Thank you Jesus!!!
If 2008 is any better I don't know what I will do.

Thank the Lord for that!
I am curious if what people do on January 1, take communion, pray, wash feet, get drunk...with alcohol, if that dictates the tenor of the entire year for them?
It sounds pretty silly, but I am not sure it doesn't have some relavance to us spiritual folks.
I didn't take communion last year and I was sorry for missing the service intentionally. I just stayed home and watched movies because I didn't feel like going through all the hoopala of the regular service...really! I think it really had an effect, then again maybe not.

I appreciate all you folks because without you, there would be no forum and really no one to discuss stuff with.
HAPPY NEW YEAR...
This was an unbelievable year for me. Everest Highs, and Grand Canyon Lows, and through it all, God is still and forever will be an on-time God.

I had a life-changing experience in 2007. It has give me a fresh look...almost like I've been reborn or hatched out of my cocoon. I don't see things exactly as I did before.
Let us remember the hurting, the hungry, the lonely, the destitute, the poor, the imprisoned, the naked and struggling who need YOUR help...MY help. Let us hear the plaintif mourn of the lost, hopeless and suffering whose cries are filling the air from home and abroad. Yes, let us remember them lest the sad and disgusting face of Jesus lights upon us only to hear him say, "Just get out of my sight you that work iniquity."
I love and appreciate everyone here and pray that you find the sufficiency of the cross to be enough to bouy you over life's most trying times that are sure to come to test your resolve and your faith to make it over...all the way over.
Though we may have our disagreements, our differences, I can only remind myself that God is greater than all of them and that we find solace and rest in Him alone who whispers into our hearts his sweet peace.
It is my prayer for each of you, that 2008 will land you safely into 2009 without the loss of a loved one that is near and dear to your bosoom or a friend in whom you have confidence and trust. I pray that the enemy will not rob your fiances or your solace in Christ.
My prayer, with uplifed arms toward all is:
BE BLESSED! BE BLESSED! BE BLESSED!

How would you characterize 2007? Tumultuous to say the least...
What happened? Biggest thing for me is... My wife left me...
What are some of your highs, lows, blessings, memories?
High: Co-founded a church - It's awesome!.
Low: My wife left me and filed for divorce.
Blessing: ALL of it... in a biblical sort of way (giving thanks in whatsoever state I'm in).
Memories: You betcha... I doubt I'll ever forget them. They are the hammers that have shaped who I am becoming.
Who are the people we need to remember from 2007? Everyone... and each for their own reasons... With that said, some are more memorable than others...

January 1st will be a day for reflection, and fellowship with my husband, we will do what we do most any day of the year...the New year is always a fresh start, thankfully with the Lord we get a frest start each day!

I agree. I just wish I could spend new years night with my wife, alone, in an unbelievably romantic spot, and I would get to tell her how happy I am to be with her, how much I am looking forward to 2008 with her and how her influence in the past has shaped me to be the man I am today.
Too bad people insist on getting us together to wet our toesies, break bread, etc. Well that and the kids...
