I went to the Doctor (finally) and he put me on some medicines (both various injections and pills every day) and, honest to God, I'm not sure I wouldn't rather fight the blood pressure and diabetes! Something I'm taking is making me viciously sick and having hideous headaches but I have to take it, they say, until my system gets used to it.

So, alas, it's not a 'sham' of humility... I just hope those I'm preaching to can't tell how hindered I really feel!
I remember a time when it seemed like I was sick all of the time. So I asked the Lord about it. I felt like the Lord said to me that the reason I was sick and hurting was so that I could become more sensitive to those that were sick and hurting in the churches where I ministered.

I know one thing. It certainly worked.

Have you ever heard of taking some time OFF!!!!! Brother you need to think of you in the here and now as the report you are telling us doesn't promise of weeks down the road. Please, for you , your family , and your church, take time immediately to tend to your health. Cancel all appointments for the next few weeks. Get your young ministers to preach for you, they probably need the experience. Get rest and relaxation for a bit and let the Lord and the medicine do the work.

What good are you to us in the grave?

If you remember, the last time he had a major health scare, he went on a cruise instead of to the hospital. At least this time, he's seeing a doctor!!!

Please take care of yourself, Steadfast!

I agree. This is serious and need constant professional attentions. The ranges you list are very extreme/serious.

Is 600 considered a high blood sugar level?
My step dad's doctor told him that his blood sugar level is at 600 and that he needs to get to the emergency room. Is this considered life threatening? He has recently had a stroke and has to walk with a cane because he falls. He has also lost a lot of weight.

UMM yes that is very critical! I work in an ER and our glucose machine doesnt even register over 400. 600 is almost life threatening. He could end up in a diabetic coma...he needs to go to the ER NOW
