I think what is happening here is a microcosm of a broader shift in the movement as a whole.

From what I have noticed, the ones that post the goodbye threads always come back.

The leadership of AFF took very few steps to direct the forum. The direction of the forum came from the majority of the posters themselves, and is a reflection of them, and not necessarily the admin team.
