I am blessed!!

Despite how I feel in body and every situation that surrounds me, I am blessed!!

I am blessed, not because of Apostolic heritage or who my parents are...and the fact that I am cute and sweet has absolutely nothing to do with my blessing.

I am blessed because of who He is and what He did for me on the Cross. He who was without sin or shame took mine upon Him so that I could live free from the bondage of sin, death, hell, and the grave.

I am blessed because I recognize His love for me and choose to be blessed.

I am blessed in spite of the doubters who said that I was a hopeless case and would NEVER come to the Lord.

I am blessed in spite of the gainsayers who spoke against me AFTER I came to the Lord and failed...they wondered aloud if I could run again.

Well, I am STILL here!!

Not because I am all that and a bag of chips, but because of grace and mercy. They run after me 24/7, extending again and again that which I know more than y'all just how underserving I am.

I am blessed!!

And this blessing that has so richly been given to me, I extend to others...born to be a blessing is what I am, and can do no less.

I heard a wife of one of our pastors make this statement many years ago, and I have never forgotten it. She said, "My reason for praising never changes." Circumstances might, but our REASON for praising never does.

I'm in a Valley

2 Chronicles 20:20 is where we get these immortal words: Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. Jehosaphat, faced with opposing armies, told Judah to sing. He sent the singers before the armies as instructed by the Lord. And, they sang. Remember Paul and Silas singing at midnight in prison? What do we do when trouble comes? We sing. On Feburary 6 I found myself singing the very song mentioned on this thread, "I am blessed, I am Blessed, Everyday that I live I am blessed..."

As God's people sang, the enemy did something very curious. They turned on each other. The enemy slaughtered each other and when Judah arrived on the battlefield, all that was left for them to do was to pick up the spoils. And, while doing so, they blessed the Name of the Lord. That valley was from then thereafter called the Valley of Berachah. The Valley of Blessing. I'm living in the Valley of Blessing. I am blessed... and blessed be the Name of the Lord.
