All these predictions of economic collapse, terrorism, disaster, famine, etc all sound like a great opportunity to implement a one-world government, huh?

If I am going to accept that view of revalations, then I believe that the one world government will occur in the aftermath of another HOT world war in which somewhere between one and two billion people are killed.
I say "if" because I just dont know what i believe.
I will say that at present there are in the area of a hundred million men in China with no prospects of finding a wife.
that cannot mean good things.

I think Ramen Noodles might be the only thing from this world that will last through the eschaton and the final judgement.
But I'm not saying that's a good thing.
Not so my friend, not so. I opened a bag after it had been in the pantry for awhile, and guess what I saw? Maggots..!! yep...maggots came crawling out..!! Needless to say, I don't eat Ramen Noodles anymore. That scarred me for life!

Yeah I was kinda disappointed that pel didn't have the acumen to recognize that the twinkie was the ultimate survival food.
I have another question...since the US dollar has lost value and has been forecasted to plummet more, where should we invest our money? I heard that gold was a safe investment, but how does one go about purchasing gold and should it be kept in a safe in the home?

rations like that would kill a dialysis patient....what sort of foods can one stock and expect to last a long long time without expiring?
You need to come out of the bunker mentality. The food that "lasts the longest" grows, is harvested and is replenished or replanted for another harvest.
But this requires a whole different mindset. We like to imagine such Apocalyptic scenarios in terms where we as an individual control the food supply, the women and the liquor. As Dispensationalists we're willing to leave out the booze but we demand control over our foodstuffs and womenfolk. It's kind of like the survival plan that Doctor Strangelove found so enticing. Most of our planning has been a dream of shacking up underground eating a gourmet variety of reconstituted soup pastes and preparing to "replenish the earth;" just in case this isn't the final blow up.
A more reasoned approach would be to climb out of our bunkers and the inherent anti-social and anti-Christian mindset behind such notions. If you are truly concerned you would already have a piece of ground that has a good source of water and is suitable to raising crops for subsistence living.
Living above ground means that you will have to form alliances with your neighbors. Trading of goods and services and mutual defense will be essential. In time, these "communities" will band together with other communities and and regional and eventually national associations will be reestablished.
This is the way Eastern Europe was rebuilt after the Mongol invasions. Also, we can see the pattern repeating itself over and over again. The key to survival is cooperating with larger and larger groups of people. Cooperation and mutual defense has always won out over the hunker in your bunker mentality.
And the only way to keep a dialysis patient alive is to have enough people working together to support a local hospital. Otherwise the only good he is to us is as a sacrificial spy to see if the hostiles over the ridge have managed to keep any of their women.

Ramen noodles are actually a toxin for me, literally. And your maggots had to have come from somewhere. Proper packaging and care will keep your noodles, uhm... is "fresh" really the word we're looking for here?
Besides, if you were really hungry the maggots would have been a useful protein suppliment.
I guess to be fair, those noodles, if you can deal with them are a marvellous bit of food engineering. There's a lot of carbo energy densely packed there. If space is a concern, you can get a whole lot of calories packed away into a small space.
