Re: Your experience when you dropped "dress standa

Can a few of us men who are blessed with long flowing beautiful locks, put on a "short hair" wig in order to attend a UPC service?

We just started our "church search" this past weekend. Our first being a typical mega-church which felt more like a mall with a christian book store in one section, a coffee shop in another, a day car in yet another, and a TV-section of a typical SAMS club with all the stations set to the same preacher (this it turns out, is the main chapel).

Aww....don't make me cry!

You are sweet. My children are your kids' ages and I'm happy to say that they both love God and are involved in the church, something I hoped would happen as I saw it happening with your children.

My daughter hasn't cut her hair in three years. Her choice. She wears pants but told me tonight that she needs more skirts. She's turning into an ultra con! LOL!

She doesn't see them as salvational though, more like just trying to fit into the groove, I guess. And that's ok. She's just 14.

I'm glad you are my friend too.

they are growing up on us. I'm a firm believer that kids know their parents more than anyone...they know when we are fake or if we have the real thing... words need to be met with actions. So, when kids choose to serve the Lord, usually it is because they are modeling what they see before them. Even in all our faults, our kids see our desire to honor God. Keep up the good work H.O. keep them involved.

my oldest daughter is 18 now, she has chosen to wear skirts as her main attire... she just prefers them... she can make that hair of hers look like miss patty pentecost.. I call her that often. I think she just likes to fit in too..and she isn't intimidated by anyone, she has her beliefs and she stands up for them in public school.
