You are so right, Renda is a good catch. Can't get any sweeter.

My problem is that my chemistry can throw off most fragrances. I could bathe in it and 15 minutes later you wouldn't know I put anything on unless you saw me.

For instance, when I was 18 I sprayed on some Avon colonge and my best friends mother thought oh my she is going to smell way to strong. In less than 15 minutes she could not smell any colonge at all.

I usually buy the more expensive IF it will last on me. So I am really quite limited.

Summer time I like a lighter fragrance, personally.

Hmmmm. Sounds like you might need to use more of a fragance oil, than eau de toilette or the parfum. I don't remember how it is they determine it, but the amount of oil in the fragrance determines what it's called.

I've never seen anyone have that sort of reaction to it, but I do know someone who gets sick from a lot of scents, so she made me a bit more sensitive to the issue. Some people just act like imbicilles who don't care, though....Of course you would know that more than I.

I had a roommate at one point in time who would literally bath in Amirage. She had the entire line because someone had given it to her as a gift. Our apartment would be filled with the scent of her bodywash, lotion, perfume and whatever else was given to her. I grew to not only loathe the smell of Amirage, but to literally get nauseated from the smell. After that if I found I was going to get in the elevator at work with someone who had that scent, I would wait for the next one or hold my breath the entire time. I absolutely hate Amirage!

So you have held your breath for long periods of time. That explains a lot!

Re: Cologne and Perfumes

I have always liked wearing cologne. After reading this thread, I went into my bathroom to see how many I currently had on the shelf. Usually, I end up throwing them away after a few years, so I've tried to cut back on how many I have at one time.

I had eight bottles, but only three were summer (light) fragrances. My favorite summer colognes this year are Kenneth Cole, Burberry Weekend and Be Delicious Men.

Nope! It was an EXPRESS elevator that had it's first stop on the floor I worked on....the 34th. It's crazy that I miss taking an elevator in a city building...

You are referring to being dropped on my head as an infant when you speak of "explains a lot!"

Re: Cologne and Perfumes

I love colognes and perfumes! I love to smell nice!

My number one fragrance is called Beautiful. My husband buys me a large bottle every Christmas.

My number two is Red Door.

Both smell wonderful and I receive many compliments on both.

My 4 year old grandson is the same way. He likes to wear what his Dad wears. I think it's called Axe. He always wants me to hug him so I can smell it after his shower.
