Of course we are praying, but here are the steps we are taking
Notifying all local law enforcement
Changing Locks on the Church (they had keys)
Doing a Restraining Order
Hiring a Security Guard for Sunday Services
Notified the Sheriff who lives across from me on my street
Instituting a partner policy, no leader is to be alone at the church, we operate two by two now on
Pulled out my Glock 17, now loaded and is in an safe yet, accessable place
Thanks to all for the wisdom and spirit behind your posts, this is something they don't teach in Seminary.
Everything you're doing sounds good, except the gun.

I am amazed that a backslider is being treated this way.
What happened to LOVE the sinner?
Gal 6:1-2
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

I don't believe this is a case of just a backslider. I'm sure that Pastor Keith has had a backslider or two before and not had these concerns. When there are specific threats of violence made in a credible way, it would be irresponsible to not take them seriously. With the types of attacks we see in public places these days (even in churches), there is a moral obligation to make sure he protects his family, innocent church members, and himself.

Serious situation with a former saint (was asked to leave this week) threatening myself and various members of the church. He just called me and threatened to kick my #bad word# when he sees me, this is a real bad situation that has ramifications for myself, my family and our church.
Please Pray

Oh I'm sorry I thought we were Apostolic Christians.

Curious?
How would you handle a situation when someone threatened your family?

What in the world did you do to cause a saint to react this way.
And does your action sound like Paul's instructions.
1 Cor 6:1
6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

This man was a minister in that church for several years. He has gotten progressively worse with his violence.
He has choked someone in the bathroom, beat up his brother in law (who is a brother in the Lord) at a car wash.
Keith had in front of him a plan of restoration for both him and his wife, but could not present it to him because he became violent.
He has threatened 3 other people on the phone, and in front of their home. He also has threatened to do bodily harm to these folks family members.
We have spoke to his family members and he feels backed in a corner and hard no choice but to fight his way out. His wife blames the former pastor for his behavior.
You can not help someone who thinks fighting their way out, and blame others for their actions.
I believe the scriptures say we are not to sue, we are not suing we are looking for protection.
Thank God my husband has enough brains to call the POLICE and protect his family and the church.
