Re: Do u allow Running,Shouting,Dancing in your ch
From the above link posted... this quote struck me. Hope this isn't too large a quote.
"There are several words that are translated as 'praise.' They describe the raising of hands, kneeling, singing, singing in a group (or choir), shouting, dancing, even being clamorously foolish.
There are really only 2 words that are translated 'worship.' One of them describes bowing in reverence and the other describes carving, fabricating or fashioning. The latter is used in a verse talking about the worship of idols.
This struck me as a very clear distinction : Worship is either directed towards Adonai, or somewhere else. There is no middle gound."

Over time some shouting has gained nicknames like the "helicopter" where one spins while ones arms are outstretched.
Are you new to Pentecost? I am surprised that you only thought of "shouting" as whooping or hollaring. No wonder we have been talking past each other somewhat.
Nope, I'm not new to Pentecost.
It seems you have a problem with folks dancing! Yep, you remind me of Micah.

You are being very predictable here.
How about some actual contribution to the discussion?
CC,
WHAT IF.....
someone was really being touched by the Lord and
That was THEIR reaction (a jerk, twist, spin)
So what????? It's a human reaction to something
supernatural. some people may react by crying
nothing wrong with that either.
WHAT IF...
The Lord did not object to someone reacting with their
emotions to the touch of God?? perhaps they are being
heald? maybe God is healing their emotions you just
never know. That's why I say, you should let God be
the Judge of what HE accepts and if he doesn't then
that's on the individual.
If someone is faking it, again, let God be God. how
many people fake when they sing??? we don't often
mean it when we sing " I surrender all" and yet we
haven't really done so. There's a saying that If Pentecostals
Ever lie, it's when they sing that song.
I've seen plenty of people clapping and looking just as
bored, going thru the motions, yawning, looking around.
I notice most people don't get super spiritual(critical)
until it gets more emotional. that's when we start getting
really uncomfortable. Americans have been culturally
conditioned not to express their emotions to God. It's
OKAY to do so for the God of sports, but you better not
even lift a finger in church
