Don't be confused Sister. I didn't see the thread as starting to get taken over by the discussion on personal protection, like you and Sister Margie did. You are right, however, that it has started going down that road.

Re: Please pray!!!

Update and prayer being answered, the disgruntled saint called and apologized and took responsibility for his actions, he still holds that he was mistreated by other members, but admitted that he has a problem, and the will move on with their lives. This was what I needed to hear, sincere apology, lets hope that fruit follows.

As well as Firearms and personal protection, I would never bring a firearm to church, if someone wanted to attack me in the meeting place then I assume that God is allowing that to happen, I find no place to defend oneself in the scripture while engaged in gospel ministry other than to run or seek shelter. On the otherhand I feel it is my God ordained right both as the Man of the House as well as those rights affored by the Constitution to defend my house with a firearm of my choice.

Brother, I am glad things worked out for the better. Hopefully, this man will get some help in dealing with his temper.

Come on, Rico, I'm not accusing Keith of anything.

I just wonder how Christians can trust in the law and a Glock.

You really like to throw that "Prove it" out there don't ya.

Here it is in RED letter.

Matt 5:39-45

39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.

AND...

1 Thess 5:15

15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
KJV

Look what prayer can do!! THANK YOU, JESUS! We need to continue to pray tho because I am sure that satan is not finished messing with this guy. No matter how sincerely he apologized, anger and hurt is a hard thing to let go of. So the reality of the situation is that it would not be hard for him to slip right back to what he was yesterday or the day before. He needs our prayer and so does Keith.

Keith, I don't know why, but in my spirit I feel such a sense of urgency about this request. More than I have ever felt about any request on here ever before. Folks, we've GOT to continue to bring this situation before the Throne of God. Only HE can make the difference.

(and just for the record, here's my theory: PRAY PRAY PRAY! That's your first line of defense. But it never hurts to be prepared either. God gaves us brains for a reason. I believe it is because he expects us to use them!)

Re: Please pray!!!

Keith!

So glad for the good report.

Your first line of defense was to trust God and prayer and ask for our help in praying!!

Re: Please pray!!!

Keith, I am very glad to hear the report. I was praying and am glad that God has intervened in this way. I apologize if any of my posts were disrespectful to your plight or undermined your prayer request. That was not my intention and once again I am glad that God has moved on behalf of your church and family.
