Hello from the Alvear's from Ga...

Dear Friends in the Homeland

After the long tiring trip from the northeast Brother Alvear and I arrived in Atlanta, Ga. Friends picked us up and were so kind to le t us rest a few days in their home. I had to have the help of a cane to make it the last leg of my journey but after a few days of rest I have retired the cane.
We arrived exhausted but today we both have felt God’s renewing strength and we are thankful that God has brought us to the states for a few weeks and to enjoy the Nashville conference. It has been so long since I have been able to be in the states and relax from the heavy load we carry. I am so thankful.

God has been good to us over the years and given us faithful helpers and weeded out those that are not. We feel the entire work is in good hands of faithful men that are called and dedicated to helping us carry the load. In 40 years of missionary service we have seen God do unbelievable things.
Never have we seen such a move of God in the city of Maceio where we live. It is “Pentecost” every service.
There are new people coming to God, new people receiving the Holy Ghost. Just last Sunday we baptized 3 more souls, two Catholic and one trinity preacher in the great Name of Jesus. We had just baptized 5 more a few days before that. In Maceio in one of the villages we have rented a new building for another church and in a little city out from Maceio we are making plans to build yet another church.

At this writing our son Arlei is in the jungle city of Barra do Corda where he and his family are soon moving. He and a group of brothers are up there digging a well on our property so we can begin building in that area.

We just sent a worker up to the state of Ceara to preach for our people. The work there is growing and we are now building by faith the second church in that area.

We also financed for a brother to visit the churches in the state of Maranhao and he reports so many great services and faithfulness of our people in that area.

Our headquarters church in the state of Mato Grosso just baptized a girl from the mostly unevangelized state of Acre. We are hoping this will be an open door for that state.

Pastor Hugo was just over in the country of Paraguay for us and God blessed his trip abundantly and because of it several have asked for baptism.

I was unable due to surgery to be at the yearly ladies meeting in the state of Minas Gerais but sent missionary Estella from southern Brazil to represent me and paid for a group of sisters from the state of Sao Paulo to go up there. They reported a wonderful spirit filled ladies meeting and an outpouring of the Holy Ghost in every service. From there we paid missionary Estella way on up to Maceio to visit with our people and as soon as we return she is going with us to the jungle area where brother Arlei is moving to help them out for a time. Missionary Estella was a Trinitarian missionary for many years but Brother Raul Jr baptized her in the precious Name of Jesus.
The 6th of April our people in Maceio are having what they have entitled a “March for Jesus” in one of the villages there. They have made banners on baptism and oneness and are marching through the village signing giving out tracts and will be camping in the middle of the village to continue on the 7th and 8th.. Pray for God to reach into the hearts of many trinity folks and reveal this great truth to them. Pastor Moses and his wife Missionary Marlene received this great revelation about a year ago and have a deep burden for those they were once associated with. It is so exciting to see their love and zeal for the truth. They are just great holiness folks and we are privileged to have them working with us. What has amazed me so much is their loyalty to us and the message.

Our national campground is coming right along. We are praying for God to supply 6 thousand dollars we need for the electric system. It seems a lot to us but God has all power to help us out.
We live from day to day by faith and for 40 years He has never failed. I am always so amazed when God speaks to people to help us. If we had been “political” or Brother Alvear had felt command of the English language we might have felt we contributed to bringing in support…but we are neither political and Brother Alvear cannot fluently write in English and feels unsure of himself so he has always fought a battle to speak in the American churches…But God is bigger than any of our earthly hindrances and it is His work and His people are the apple of His eye…Just yesterday I found my self sings, “His eye is on the sparrow and I know he watches me…”

This short trip we did not plan a lot of visiting just enough to pay our fares and everyday needs…We felt a deep need to just get our strength together and our health built back up for the battle ahead. The 26th-29th is our regional convention in Maceio. Spme have asked what we needed most to help us out. Since we are not there to get things together any offering that you might send to help on food for our people would be deeply appreciated. Several preachers from other northern and northeast states have asked to come for that to be possible money for fares must come in. A whole trinity church from another state has asked us for help to come…If you help us we will help them to come and hear about the oneness of the Godhead and baptism in Jesus name.

Thank you for the many things you do for us and the work in Brazil. We could never repay your kindness to us but He that sits by the treasury takes note for the rewarding day.

Many Brazilians will want to personally thank you for playing such a part on the stage of life and by doing that you made it possible that they could hear the gospel message and be recipients of eternal life. Thank you fro making the difference!

Your life-long friends in Missions:

Brother Raul and Janice Alvear

Sis Alvear,

Thank you for the update on your work in Brazil. I hope you enjoy your visit here in the states and in particular the visit to my town, Nashville.

Can you once again (if it is not against this forums rules) list the name and address where folks can send offerings for your missions work in Brazil? I know you did that back on NFCF when it was requested.

Hello Sister Alvear

Dear Sister Alvear,
It was such a pleasure to meet you and Brother Alvear on last night (Thursday). I hope Brother Alvear was able to finish that piece of cake! It was the BIGGEST piece of chocolate cake I had ever seen! LOL

I really felt as if I were in the company of two Angels of God. You are so precious and such a sweet sweet spirit - My wife just really fell in love with you and we hope we can see you all again. If only everyone had such a sweet spirit we would be so much better off.

God bless you in your labor for the Kingdom of God. Please get some rest and don't push yourself too much. My Bishop did not take time to rest and he just died at the age of 67 because he just did not take care of himself.

You are so valuable to the Kingdom of God and we need you. We are praying for you and for much success in the future. This report really blessed me.
Thank you for giving so much. We love you both dearly and feel as if we have known you for many years. God bless you in your labors for Him.
