When we leave the area of directly in the word to "principle" often a persons bias is incorporated into such a view, their own philosophical thinking to draw such a principle out.
And then in other cases such a principle is not evenly applied. For example some preach against even owning devices that can play video...yet all PCs have are video devices as are cell phones. The internet can arguably have the TV principle applied to it. At some point then it comes down to interpretation.
For example most here would agree not to watch things that are corrupting to a soul, most would not agree on what is corrupting. People here that are ok with TV would not say you can watch anything you want to. So they are still using the same principle generally

Well concerning zippers and owning devices that play video, colored shirts, ect are standards for certain churches and I’m trying to stay away from that. The things that I posted I believe have a biblical heaven or hell issue.

The point is they THINK they have bible principles to back them up. They THINK they are heaven and hell issues.

I used to be the poster child for the ultra cons here back home. I've changed a lot in the past few yrs. But, having the u.c. background, I understand how they feel when someone breaks a little rule. I used to judge everyone for breaking the small rules, all the while I was into some really bad stuff. If you know anything about my past (was a thread around here, I asked for it to be removed) you would know what I am talking about. Anyway, I have some good friends and I don't want my liberties to be an offense to them. What can I say? I love them. So I gladly follow through. No bitterness.
There are a number of issues that I have changed or am examining and may change, but I can't post about that just yet. lol .. A few know that I am a member here.

Go home and it's clean shaven and pants in 120* weather.
Am I supposed to follow the "rules" per the "pastor" all the time?
|
If you claim to be from his church and especially if you are used in any capacity at all, yes, you need to follow the rules WHEREVER you may be.
IMO, as a pastor's wife and a saint, if you don't believe what your pastor preaches, then go somewhere where you do believe what they preach. I understand if there is not a church around that is anywhere close to what you believe, and you attend there to help keep you in "balance", but if you profess to be apart of that church, you need to live in such a way that people around you will not be confused.
Not meaning to be mean, just my opinion.

Re: AFF apostolic or not?
You know it is funny...you can be a liberal Trinitarian all your life and discover what you believed was wrong and become an UC Oneness....but the moment you discover some of the things you believed as a UC were wrong and move away from that all heck breaks loose

People around me are not confused. I get asked so many questions and I answer "I won't tell you anything that goes contrary to what the pastor teaches." I grin and stay silent.
When I am away I exercise my liberties... away... far away.. not when I'm anywhere near home.
