Re: Does anyone eat mush?

1 1/4 cups cornmeal
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt

is all you need...since ours was for supper I cooked some hamburger meat in red sauce with a little onion and tomato...and we poured the sauce over the mush..

You can fry mush... if you like it you can pour syrup over it or eat it with jelly.

When we had 11 kids at home I would make it a couple times a week!

Re: Does anyone eat mush?

I generally pour a spoon of cooking oil in the mush as it cooks...

I guess I have never had mush....I certainly do not like grits. I might try this sometime.

Barb, when my mom made fried mush when we were kids, that's how we always ate it. Are you saying that that is the wrong way to eat it? I don't know any other way.

Ron, I detest potatoes. But people tell me I make the best potato soup they've ever had. Want the recipe?

I like fried mush for breakfast, but, even better is fried scrapple.
