I have tried to get my husband to get a pedicure, he has terrible ingrown toenails, and the little ladies at the nail shop could prevent them. But he is too "manly" and apparently he would rather pay the $325.00 for a podiatrist to do it, or yank it out himself, then $16.00 at the 'beautiful nail" shop! What a stubborn man...
He may not need to yank or pay the foot doctor. I have had my share of ingrown toe nails. I have found that if you scrape the middle of the nail and thin it out the nail will grow that direction and it alleviate the ingrowing. I has worked for me on several occasions. Within a day or so the pain is pretty much gone.
