If its the former, the burden is on you to correct the behavior, but if its the latter, you simply have to figure out if their opinions matter, and act accordingly. (ergo, Rhoni's post)

I have some ingrained stigmas that I still feel guilty about, even though I *know* there's nothing to feel bad about.

Are you sure you're not projecting their disappointment at your "good behavior?"
OMG! That's it, in a nut-shell!!
Thankyou! (it IS the latter: conceal it because other people precieve it as wrong, and will judge you negitivly)....it's an ingrained stigma, and my daughter thinks I have issues! LOL She thinks I aught to do what I am free in Christ to do, which I could but, like Rhoni has mentioned, you honor or do as the church you go to as a majority does. If I were to move and go to an even more liberal church, I would probably change at some point...maybe.

Our Church has a diverse congragation. We open our doors for all...even women with a pixie haircut or men with full beards. As long as you have clothes on...LOL...you are welcome!!

I have enjoyed both yours and MissBrattified's posts...I do have a question for you though:

Many times we say that everyone is welcome and can dress as they please but isn't it your expectation that after 3-6 months you expect a move to a more 'conservative' way of dress or you judge them as not being serious about God? Do you use all those 'dressed' even though perhaps not dressed as you would think they should be?

Just checking.

Blessings, Rhoni

hummmm...good question! Truthfully, I don't really look at that. Some of my friends may notice and make a comment....I just wince.
I remember that it took almost 2 years for some changes to occure in me. I remember wearing a onepiece short outfit...ya remember those?! LOL Well, I heard this small voice say "those are too short for you". And they were. They wern't just above the knee, they were shorter. I threw them away. Pants came later. Part of it was the UPCI nagsters(oops, can I say that?! LOL) about going to hell and the other was because I had 2 c-sections (up and down) that it bothered me (they were uncomfortable to wear at the time). So, I stopped wearing pants for so long now that I don't wear them but for certain circumstances.
Really, it's none of my buisness, they have clothes on, that's all that matters to me!
