Was this guy Apostolic?
Was this guy Apostolic? Any one here old enough to have heard him in person? Gene Martin is his name.
What about this A. A. Allen preacher?

Re: Was this guy Apostolic?
I met Gene Martin once. As far as I know he wasn't (and isn't) Jesus Name. Bro. Martin is in his 60's now... still evangelizing out of Atlanta, GA. A.A. Allen, who passed away in 1970, was not Jesus Name. He was AOG for years, was ousted, became independent and started a ministerial organization names "Miracle Revival Fellowship".

Everything true concering Gene Martin. However, the below is what I was told by Greg Crawford. Greg has had the opportunity to move in a higher circle of charismatics--speaks with and knows all the big names. He spoke with Don Stewart who was an associate evangelist of AA Allen. Don is basically oneness--one of the many who know the Word but do not preach it--he told Greg that Allen had been baptized in the Name of Jesus and that it was one of the left out keys in the book, "keys to miracle working power."

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I get that same impression. The clip I downloaded reminds me a lot of my times while attending a UPCI church in NC-- only our preachers were bit more lively.
I love listening to music like this. The A.A. Allen guy refers to this music as "Miracle Music" in a few of the other clips I've watched.

Re: Was this guy Apostolic?
A.A. Allen, Jack Coe, and others were very big evangelists back in those days. Usually tent revivals.

I am not a fan of Don Stewart--
I just relayed what I was told by Bro. Greg. Like so many Don could have changed over the years??? The way he is now, does not seem to fit with the Allen of the 60's.

Re: Was this guy Apostolic?
Gene Martin is a personal friend of mine and is 69 and still traveling the world singing, shouting, running, dancing like a house on fire and preaching up a storm.
I was just in a convention with him a few weeks ago. He says some of the most off the wall things you have EVER HEARD in your life! I laugh so hard every time I hear him.
The Reverend Gene Martin and the Action Revival Team! He has been in ill health the past few years - but resurrects and goes at it full speed ahead!
Most guys like Gene do not deal with doctrine at all. They could care less how, who or when or what they said or even if you GOT baptized! He is a good man - but does not deal with doctrinal issues.
I preached a convention at his home church this week - The Church of Atlanta Lighthouse with Bishop Michael Spires.
Don Stewart - I know him too - he is NOT Oneness, Trinity, Twoness or anything else. If Don makes it to heaven - It will be by an absolute MIRACLE!
He is sad. He is what ever you want him to be to get your money from you. He is one sad individual and has been messed up for a Long Long time!
