Re: No Thanks, I Will Stay Old Time Pentecost

Don't hold your breath for that train wreck, although I know how excited some of "God's" self-appointed hall monitors would be to get the chance to come and "rescue" people from the wreckage.... it would give them more "scary" sermons to preach fear and guilt to other unsuspecting victims...

FTR, I have NEVER told an individual that they "were going to Hell".

Re: No Thanks, I Will Stay Old Time Pentecost

Often times, what we read on AFF is preacher failure.

The preacher failed to preach the message in a way that some of you could get it in your HEARTS.

I hate that.

And then sometimes, what I read is out and out rebellion of backsliders and reprobates.

I hate that too.

Ok, but isn't that where the "slippery slope" leads. Every time there is a reference to the "slippery slope" is made it is in reference to Libs and their "loose" ways

Just a little reminder and warning from over here.

Re: No Thanks, I Will Stay Old Time Pentecost

If any preacher could produce specific evidence that they represent God, that may help some of us... you pull out the bible, I have one too...

It seems that some people could read a U.S. History book and decide that they are the president, and use the history book to prove it (see, there were presidents in history, therefore I am a president!)...

So, in essence you ARE sending people to hell... (or telling them they are on their way)

So the first step to being accepted by and fellowshipping with trinitarian charismatics is the dropping of the standard.

Then it's just another step to "well they don't really believe in three Gods, after all it's really just semantics".

And then the use of the name of Jesus in water baptism is not as important as it used to be.

Thanks, but NO THANKS, I'll just stay over here and WATCH the train wreck.

With the help of the Grace of God and the Truth of His Word, I am recovering just fine from my old legalistic background.

To be fair it would be somewhat ingenious to come up with a slippery slope to holiness. LOL
