It's already out that-

Her husband has a DUI-from 1986,
Her daughters pregnancy,
Her not so good relationship with her BIL
A supposed affair
US cover saying "Babies Lies, and scams" (I'm guessing off the cuff)

Lets not kid ourselves, dirt is dug up for a reason, and it's to the benefit one of the parties.

They both do it, it is just with Palin, it has reached to a new low-
Jeanie, I'm not disputing the "suggestion that it was a dem", I'm disputing the humongous leap to "suggest that it was the Dems". Like the other examples I gave could come from a Republican, but not necessarily the Republicans.
As far as the dissemination of the info, That is to be expected nowadays. As a matter of fact, they are currently looking at editing done to her wikipedia article by someone apparently connected to her in the hours leading up to her announcement.
I'm sure that the issue with the husbands DUI was also among the things in the report that you alluded to earlier, so that would not have been a new find.
The issue with her BIL was also already common knowledge and is not just about her bad relationship with him, but her alleged firing of the Public Safety Director for not firing him.

McCain's task is to attract the moderate, undecided voters in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan and a handful of other battleground states. That's where the election is going to be won or lost. He knows that the base of the party won't be enough. He has to distance himself from George W. Bush enough to attract the undecided mods, yet stay close enough to GWB to keep his base fired up.

I'm sure his campaign and speech writers know the tight rope he'll be walking.

100% agree with you here.
a couple of points to add. No one in modern presidential history has won the whitehouse without their base being fired up.

and no one in modern presidential history hsa won the whitehouse without appealing to the independant swing vote.

the winner is the guy who keeps the base fired up and wins the swing vote... in every election.

McCain is and always has been the guy on this ticket who appeals to the swing vote. His main problem was a base that was holding its nose.

Sarah Palin as removed the fingers from the bases nose, and got them to dig into their pocket book. the base now has a dog in this hunt, and McCain is getting them to give bigtime right now.

having said all that, I still say this race is the dems to lose. McCain can only keep it close and hope ZerObama makes mistakes.

Rassmussen has a poll out today that says 51% of the public believe the media is out to distroy Palin. those numbers are actually in the 60% for moderate swingvoters.

and the poll suggests, those swing voters dont like what is happening.

Do you really believe she'll make mincemeat of Biden? Seriously?

I mean sure the lady can give a great speech, but Joe Biden isn't exactly a chump. He's been grilled time and time again on shows like Meet the Press and others over 30 years. Your guaranteeing that a lady who hasn't even been made available to the national press because they're trying to get her up to speed is going to obliterate him? You're putting a lot of faith in her.

look dude, those debates are set up for short quick answers, she is specific and graphic, biden takes 10 mins to get warmed up, you only get a min, what is he going to do to her, that will not look like he is attacking her, lol, it will be fun, dt

Right on the money on everything Ferd, but I'd disagree on it being the dems to lose. I believe this election will be very close. 60 days out, I can't see anything but a toss up.

You nailed it with the swing vote. As they go, so goes the election. McCain has to go much farther to the middle and appeal to mod's tonight. McCain's biggest job after Palin last night, is trying to seperate himself from the last 8 years of the Bush administration. If he can do that well enough, he wins. Game over, IMO.
