CP realizes the hypocrisy in much of traditional religion and he is on a quest to find God as He really is. Will he accomplish his goal? I don't know. He sure gave up alot for the pursuit.

What sin are you accusing him of excusing? Do you know him well enough to know that for a fact. If you know him that well why are you not involved in confronting his sin, so that he might recognize the error of his way and repent?

I don't know most of them, but the few that I am familiar with I have no interest in what they have to say.
