Well, some who are strong on faith healing could be against eye glasses, canes, braces, hearing aids, dentures, hairpieces, wigs, etc.
Some who are strong on holiness could be against gold framed eyeglasses or any metallic frames or any kind of designer frames.

It was horrible today. I golfed, and the winds were gusting up to 17mph.....I forgot to bring my hairspray with me, and my hair was all over the place!!!
I was embarassed to go into the clubhouse, but fortunately, I found a scarf in my golf bag and was able to put it on.

You really need to cut off that comb-over...you hair would be much more managable!

Touche!
Hey, that brings up a doctrinal point. If a man has a combover, and he swirls it on top of his head like an ice cream cone, and it's above his ears and collar, technically his hair is short, right?
But, what if, when he gets home, he untwirls it, and it hangs down to his waist on one side - is it tecnically "LONG" hair, or can he get by with it, since it's really only "long" in the privacy of his home, or in wind storms?

Hahahahaha....the word picture is amazingly hilarious!!!
Personally, I think he qualifies as having "long" hair.

I was reading an interesting discussion on earrings in a trinitarian Pentecostal Yahoo group.
ALL of them stated that if a woman gave the message from the pulpit and had on earrings, they would be okay with that. but if a man preached with earrings on, they would oppose it. some even said they would walk out.
Don't you think there is a double standard here ???

What I was going to say was:
A man who wears an ear ring may be more concerned with flash and appearance than with his own walk with God and the message he is sending the sheep he is leading.
HOWEVER, that same argument could be made against women who wear ear rings.
The "socially acceptable" argument leads me down a slippery slope as well.
In reality, I guess it is a double standard, but it is a standard.
This one-stepper still believes SOME STANDARDS are worth holding on to.
This is one of them. I don't have a scripture that I can comfortably say is out and out against men wearing ear rings, or maybe I do and I just don't remember right now.

Oh, really...I thought they'd be saying I'd gone straight to the bad place.
I'm really good! How are you Mark?
I"ve been working full time and with the family and work, there's been very little time for forums.
